Nature Photos |
I am Emily Dickinson, an American poet. Dickinson often wore a neck tie and a blouse, to show that she is sophisticated. In mostly all of the photos taken of her she was wearing a a blouse and a neck tie. The photo is in black and white because when she alive their was no such thing as colored images.

Digital Photos
The three nature photos above depict the concept of nature by showing the outside physical world and aspects of nature. The pictures differentiate from each other by showing individual aspects such as dissimilar types of land and climates. In each of the pictures, they have different composition studies. For example, in the photo on the left there is horizontal line where the the waters horizon blends with the sky. In the middle photo, it has the composition of "shape" because the picture is focused on the shape of the rocks. In the photo on the right, it uses line also because of the tree branches each express the composition of line. In each of the photos i used Photoshop to edit the pictures by increasing/ decreasing the contrast and saturation of the photos. I made sure that when i was editing, the photos did not look "too edited" and or fake. For the first time using Photoshop, i think i did a pretty good job. However, i would like to improve the clarity of my photos next time.
Abstract photos
My three abstract photos portray different designs and patterns, they are all zoomed in so they show details. I manipulated my camera by looking for any pattern or abstract like object and then taking my time to capture the image. The editing process I chose was increasing the saturation and contrast, lowering the hue, and doing a few other things to my images. However I did not want to make the images look fake so I did not do too much to them. The composition techniques that are in my images are rhythm because the pictures repeat there patterns in the images. I also had simplicity because in all three of the images they are sort of simple and not a lot is going on in them. My images remind me of the famous photographer Cunningham because his photos, like mine are simple but show detail. I think that I could have shot better abstract photos but they came put pretty good for the first time shooting abstracts. I think in the future though I could get better abstracts.
Portraits
Above are my three portrait photos. A portrait is a painting, drawing, photograph, or engraving of a person, especially one depicting only the face or head and shoulders. In my case, yes these pictures show three peoples faces and show there expressions. A portrait shows how people feel, and specifically a photograph of someone shows this because in a painting u dont have ot paint exactly what they look like. My pictures are posed because when i took candid pictures they were more blurry then the posed ones I took and the quality is better with the posed. The composition techniques i used is rule of the third because the pictures are level on both sides and are concentrated on one thing ( the face). Next time i would like to have a better background in the pictures such as taking it outside would look better because it makes the whole portrait pop out better and look more professional than just being inside.
Analyzation
Motion
My top three images depict motion by showing people in the half marathon running and the water flowing out of the sink. They both have movement involved because of course, running is a movement and water flowing is a movement. In all of my pictures I had a fast shutter so the images were frozen and you could see the runners faces and the particles of water. If the images were blurry, in my opinion it would not look as cool. The composition techniques that I used in my images is line, because behind the marathon runners you can see the horizon line of the water. I also used rule of the thirds because the runners are centered in the images. In photoshop, i didn't want to edit them to much because I didn't want them looking fake. So, I increased the contrast, saturation, and did other simple things to fix the photos up a bit. These photos reflect aspects of my life because I love being athletic and running. The image of water coming out of the sink represents society and how we are so fortunate to have running and clean water. The images I took look decent overall. I wish I would've panned the photos of the runners though and blurred the background.
